Divrigi / Divirigi, Turkey

Divrigi is a central Turkish town Southeast of Sivas, due north of Malayta, southwest of Erzincan. The Ulus Mosque in town dates back to 1229 and was built at the behest of Ahmet Shah, the seljuk vassal ruler of the Beylik of Mengücek. The inscriptions dedicate the Mosque to the Seluk Khan Ala-al-din Kay-Kubad I.

In 1241 Divrigi was a Seljuk town then called Tephrike which paid heavy black mail to avaoid destruction in the face of the Mongol invasion. Seljuk Become Vassals of the Mongols
